DJs From Mars are made up of DJs Aqualuce and Ventafunk.
Their debut track was released in 2004, and it went by the name of “Non dormo più” (Movimental Album).
Reaction to their debut track is very good and the single appears in 5 European compilations and goes straight to the highest charts positions in Italy.
In 2005 they release “Open Sesame” and “Kipo Mambo” (Movimental) and following this, their tracks are played on commercial radio outside of Italy.
After a break for personal reasons, they come back with “The Motherfucker” (Green Park, 2007). The track has an international flavor that brings DJs From Mars into the charts of several online stores.
Following the success of “Motherfucker”, the boys release “Who gives a fuck about deejays” (The Dominion, 2008), which is highly rated by some Europe’s top house DJs.
This brings some remix requests from Fench artist, Armand de France “I Say Ride on” (FalcoMusic, 2008) and in Germany from Alex Megane “Hurricane 208” (Yawa Records, 2008).
Their next release is a remake of an old dance track made by the boys a few years earlier called “Dirty Mary”.
“Dirty Mary” is played on all major commercial radio stations in Italy, Germany, UK and other various countries throughout Europe.
During this time the DJs also start a remix collaboration with the Brazilian DJ and label owner Diovanni, “Don’t Stop The Music” (TronicB7, 2008).
They also join their label mates Freakadelika, with a remix of “I Don’t Like It” (GreenPark, 2008), and dB Pure, remixing his tracks “All Night Long” and “Falling Down” (Green Park, 2008).
Feedback from top DJs in the Mediterranean area is fantastic and this leads to increased bookings.
DJs From Mars continue working flat out and “Saturday Night On The Moon” (The Dominion, 2008) is a the next track released. The track is featured on compilations in Germany and Italy, and is once again a hit throughout Europe on commercial radio and in some of the biggest and most respected clubs.
While all this success is taking place, the boys still find time to start their much anticipated side project, “Sashimi Planet”, which incorporates the melodic and pop soul of the duo.
The first single is called “Lonely Satellite” and there is an upcoming release called “Shelter”.
2009 started in a progressive mood for the guys with their single “Suono e Immagine” (The Dominion, 2009).
After just a couple of weeks they start working with dB Pure on a new single: “Revolution Radio”.
Immediately, it’s licensed on mass to compilations in Germany and it’s released on Uptunes Records.
The years continues with success as they lend their hand to some pop, when they produce the main mix of “Diventa Come un Fiore” by Dari, an Italian band that is climbing every TV and radio chart in Eastern Europe.
Meanwhile, Phunk Investigation’s own label “Absolutely Records” ask for a remix of their track “Show Me The Way” with vocals by Sharon May Linn.
They also have remix requests from Canada’s largest label Peak Hour Music, where they work on a track by DJ Jake Chec from Executive Mix. The song is “Breathe”.
They also have success when the 90’s smash hit “Blue (Da Ba Dee)” is re-released by Italy’s Bliss Corporation label, but with a 2009 take on it. Released in May 2009, with mixes by DJs From Mars and Gabry Ponte (originally in the Eiffel 65 lineup), the track once again, like a decade before, storms up the charts is played on every major commercial radio station in Europe.
In the meantime they produce several bootlegs for their gigs. Some of which attract the interest of All Music (the second largest music network in Italy after MTV) who start broadcasting their works into the dance playlists.
They work on remixes for major German labels such as Fairlight (D.Mand – “Summer Love”) and Aqualoop (Ole Van Dansk – “How I Wish”).
Mid 2009 they start working with Starshit Records where they get their hands on Rico Bernasconi’s “Love Deep Inside” t remix.
The second half of 2009 looks even more promising as they have just released “Don’t Give Up”, a remake of the massive 90’s club hit by Chicane and Bryan Adams, which as you read this, is being played to packed dance floors across the globe!
Mindless welcomes DJs From Mars to our 2010 Summer roster.
